The Economic Recovery Institute, Inc., is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit economic development organization established in 1994 to accelerate the development of human capital potentials of low-income minorities and immigrants by breaking dependency, promoting cultural competency and stimulating economic growth through holistic community economic development strategies.
ERI provides opportunities to break generational dependency and promote economic independence through job creation, technical skills acquisition, entrepreneurship development, and self-employment.
Some past, ongoing and proposed projects/activities include:
Substance Abuse and Peer Pressure Awareness campaigns; Multi-cultural Understanding; African Policy and Resource Center (APRC); African Entrepreneurs Data Bank; African Venture Initiative project; Discussion Series on the Relationship Between Africans and African-Americans; Workshops on Community Organizing and Development; Entrepreneurship Training and Technical Assistance program; Nonprofit Management and Development; Proposal Writing, Training, and Assistance; Service Provision and Resource Information Sources.
