Dr. J. Kayode Dawotola, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Economic Recovery Institute, Inc., is a Forensic
Counseling Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a Board Certified Diplomat in Psychotherapy, Forensic
Traumatology and also an expert in Traumatic Stress.
Dr. Dawotola is a professor of Psychology, Professional Speaker and Traumatic Stress Consultant who focuses on helping people through traumatic experiences.
Dr. Dawotola maintains a counseling practice in Chicago and regularly consults with individuals and organizations around the world.
Dr. Dawotola regularly trains Clinicians, Laws Enforcement personnel and Criminal Justice professionals in the fields of
Forensic Psychology. He has dedicated his professional life to serving others. He has been in the Mental Health
Profession for over 20 years and has served as President and C.E.O of the Anike Institute, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois for the
past 10 years. His talents are an exceptional combination of excellence in both strong administration and clinical skills.
As the Founding President of the Economic Recovery Institute, and the
Women for African Development, Dr. Margaret King works to develop
youth in character for tomorrow’s leadership, while also empowering
women and enhancing the capacity of community and human
development for the less fortunate in the Chicago area and Africa
through various initiatives including microfinance and microenterprise
development.
Dr. King has been a professor of development planning and
organizational management for over 18 years. She is also the founding
President and CEO of Metrocon International, Inc., an international
community economic planning and development firm in Chicago that
works with municipalities and businesses to structure economic base
and stimulate sustainable growth. She obtained a Ph.D. in Urban
Planning Public Policy with specialization in community economic
development and entrepreneurship. Her diverse professional
experience in development planning continues to play a critical role in
providing informed alternatives for seasoned decision-making in both
public and private arenas, with keen interest in the U.S. and
internationally in Sub-Saharan African countries.
She is famous for citizen-oriented development planning that stimulates citizens’ participation in holistic community
development to give specific attention to entrepreneurship and overall organizational development. Dr. King adopts a rare
combination of micro-enterprise and Trans-national Corporation (TNC) impact in economic development strategizing to
inform on diversity and cross-cultural awareness. Utilizing alternative fundraising strategies, grant proposal writing and
training workshops, she works to build the capacity of nonprofit/non-governmental organizations (NGO) in accessing
international donors. She, not only designs projects, but also manages, monitors, and evaluates for effective process and
maximum outcome.
As a widely published author, she customizes and facilitates professional development in her areas of expertise. Dr. King
is the chief editor of the Youth Flash and Entrepreneurs Insight e-newsletters. She is an acclaimed key note speaker and a
regular TV guest on entrepreneurship, community planning, and economic development issues.
She has co-founded numerous community development organizations and sits on the advisory board of several others like
Robert Morris College, African Continental Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Southland Chambers, etc. Dr. King is
prominently involved with several professional organizations including the American Planning Association, American
Collegiate Schools of Planning, Midwest Economic Association, Gulf Coast Economics Teaching Association, Women in
Planning and Development as a board member, and others.
As a leader in African community, she has worked to build capacity for organizational development of many African
businesses and community organizations in the U.S. and Africa. She has been the Chair of Economic Development
Committee and the Secretary General of the Nigerian Alliance, an umbrella organization to all Nigerian associations in the
Chicago Metropolitan area, and recently nominated to the Board of Directors of Chicagoland Nigerian Community.
Her interest in African development is unwavering with the motto that “Charity begins at home.” Currently, a member of the
Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Akwa Ibom State Association USA, Inc., the largest socio-cultural and economic
organization of this Diaspora African ethnic group globally, Dr. King works as the Board Secretary, Chair of Program
Development and Evaluation, Resource Development, Finance Manual, as well as Organizational Restructuring
committees. She is passionately involved in various capacities at local and international initiatives for women, youth and
community economic development.
Often featured in news, Dr. King is internationally recognized with many prestigious awards. She is a recipient of the
coveted Revlon and Kizzy Awards for Professional Excellence and Community Image. After being named and excelling as
the Midwest Regional Chair of Economic Development of the U.S. National Summit on Africa, she was appointed the
national Chair and invited to Washington, D.C. where she led an international dialogue with representatives from all 50
U.S. States, as well as African heads of states to write a white paper on U.S.-African trade relations to advise Congress on
passing the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) bill. Her current appointment to the Illinois Governor’s New Americans
Policy Council as the voice representing Africans in the state of Illinois attests to her illustrious human development and
public policy analysis capabilities.
Her signature services to varying levels of government; faith and community-based organizations; and businesses
continue to successfully forge some remarkable strides in sustainable community development, equitable growth
management and profitability. These firms and organizations depend on her expertise and guided directions to make that
intended mark. Despite her community and professional involvement, she is happily married with a son and a daughter.
Dr. Godson Tetteh, with a devoted passion for youth moral and character development, is the Vice Chairman of the Board
of Directors of Economic Recovery Institute, Inc. He earned a doctorate degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology
in transportation engineering. Dr. Tetteh has been a Master Mariner in command of ocean-going ships and has over 15
years experience in transportation operations. He has a proven track record in transportation research, and has a couple
of publications to his credit.
Dr. Tetteh is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has successfully applied Lean Six
Sigma methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) to improve a number of business processes. He
was an instructor at the New Jersey Transit Course on Basics of Six Sigma, and presented at the 59th Annual Elliot R. Ott
Conference on Six Sigma Theory and Practice.
Mrs. Faith Evans serves as the Secretary to the Board of Directors of Economic
Recovery Institute. She is also the organization’s Vice President with a passion for the
Women for African Development program. As the Chair of the Membership and
Communications Committee, Ms. Evans coordinates, recruits, and stays in touch with
current and prospective participants.
Prior to joining the ERI, she was the President and Founder of the Association for
Widows of Fallen Heroes of Southern Africa, WFHSA, an organization that catered for
these needy women and their children, who lost their husbands through civil war. She
holds progressive positions with pharmaceuticals companies in California, several nongovernmental
organizations and universities. Ms. Evans has degrees in Public
Relations, Journalism and Broadcasting.
Dr. Vincent Muli Kituku, CSP, is graciously an eminent member of the Board
of Economic Recovery Institute. As the founder and President of the Kituku
Associates in Boise, Idaho, he works with organizations and individuals, who
want to increase their productivity, stay focused and have a sustained desire
to make success a habit, but not an act. A master motivator and a catalyst
for unlimited results, Dr. Kituku has been described as a research-based
motivational speaker/trainer whose storytelling skills have won awards for
both spoken and written words. He is one of the less than 7% speakers to
earn the coveted Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) recognition, the
highest designation presented by the National Speakers Association.
